Captain Sean Kennedy started boating at a very early age. He began taking sailing lessons in the 1970s at the Biloxi Yacht Club. After many years on the water, he tested for and passed his 500 ton USCG captains license test at age 26. His career aboard MARINER III started not as the captain, but as part of the refit crew in May of 1979 where he signed on as a carpenters apprentice. During that refit, they rebuilt or replaced virtually every system, and structure on the yacht restoring her to her original glory. Captain Sean returned to MARINER III in January 1986 as her permanent captain, and has enjoyed the view from the office ever since. His first official charter as captain was a 100 day charter in the spring of 1986 providing housing for Harrison Ford during the filming of the motion picture MOSQUITO COAST. With Captain Sean at the helm, MARINER III has been performing private and corporate charters in Florida and the Caribbean in the winter, and New England in the summer ever since. After being in the luxury charter business for so long, Captain Sean has forged lasting working relationships with crew members in Florida and New England that return to MARINER III when they are needed for performing charter duty in any location. One of the mainstays in the crew is Chef Francis Pavlov, whose culinary prowess is well known in the yachting community. Another key member of the crew is Susan Courson. She handles charter planning aboard MARINER III. In Captain Seans off time he enjoys aviation / flying seaplanes, traveling, learning, biking, woodworking, and anything boat related. He is married and enjoys spending time with his wife, Francesca, and their two children, Finn and Morgan. Captain Seans greatest pleasure is having happy charter clients, meeting and exceeding expectations, on schedule, and giving customers lasting memories of a great event aboard MARINER III.
